FAR – Regulation of the 4th edition: 18 September 2021

Art. 1: Characteristics of the event

FAR Gravel is a non-competitive cycling event.

It is not a race! It is not a race!

It is a small adventure dedicated to fun and the discovery of the area!

FAR Gravel is a cycling excursion on bicycles such as gravel, mtb, e-bike, city-bike, etc., the use of road bikes is not recommended.

FAR Gravel is organized by A.S.D. FAR hereinafter referred to as: Organization.

Art. 2: Routes

FAR Gravel develops along dirt roads and dirt tracks, for the most part on protected cycle paths, there are sections on secondary asphalted roads open to normal vehicle transit. The difference in height is negligible.

There are three routes: 150 Km, 100 Km and 50 Km.

For all the routes it will be possible to download the gpx tracks from the website.

The 50 km route will be fully marked, the 100 km route will be marked at the key points, the 150 km route will not be marked and the GPS track provided by the Organization must be referred to. Along the 50 km route there will be volunteers in the “critical” points. For the 50 km route, a recovery service is available in case of need, it will be necessary to refer to the numbers made available by the Organization.

GPS tracks will be provided for the three routes. Participants will have to upload the track provided on their GPS device and follow it from start to finish. For the participants of the 50 Km the track is not necessary. It is forbidden to modify the route. The path must be followed in its entirety and without cuts. If you depart from the path you will have to pick it up from the point where it was left off. Outside the track, people are considered external to the event. If external to the track and assistance is required, it will be necessary to explicitly communicate it to the Organization and report the place where you are located.

The Organization has the right to change the routes at any time. A few days before the event, all subscribers will be sent an email containing the updated GPS tracks and a summary of the basic information.

On the day of the event, before departure, participants must still pay close attention to the appropriate group briefing.

Art. 3: Program

Far Gravel will take place on Saturday 18 September 2021 in Argenta (FE).

The info point will be set up at the Elementary Schools (and not at the swimming pool) with an entrance near street number no. 20 in via Matteotti from 11:00.

The individual departure will be carried out by the Elementary Schools from 13:00 to 14:00. The departure of the individual participants will take place separately at the discretion of the Organization. The relatives will be able to leave together.

The arrival must take place before 24:00.

Art. 4: Registration and medical certification

All people who have reached the age of 18 at the time of registration, of any sex, nationality, belonging to a sports group or not, will be able to participate in Far Gravel.

Minors can participate only if accompanied along the entire route by at least one parent who must express their authorization and responsibility in writing.

Minors can participate under the same conditions (card and medical certificate) as adults, from 15 years of age to the 100 km route, from 13 years to the 50 km route.

Foreigners will be able to participate in the same conditions (possible and indispensable medical certificate) of Italian subscribers or will be considered explicitly equivalent situations or so declared by the participant, to Italian legislation.

Registrations will close at midnight on 12/09/20!

No registrations will be made on the day of the Exhibition!

Routes 100 km – 150 km:

Members: Certificate for cycling sports medical, valid on the day of the event, the presentation of the competitive card for cycling (no cycling) does not replace the need to present the aforementioned medical certification.

Non-members: the competitive sports medical medical certificate is required, valid on the day of the event.

Route 50 km (promotional activity):

Open to all, members and not indistinctly, without the need for medical certification.

COURSES 100 KM – 150 KM

Members: you need a competitive card for cycling (no cycle tourism) and a competitive sports medical certificate for cycling, valid on the day of the event.

Non-members: a competitive sports medical certificate for cycling is required, valid on the day of the event.

ITINERARY 50 KM (Promotional activity)

Open to all, registered and not indiscriminately, without the need for medical certification.

Art. 5: Registration fees and services

The sooner you sign up, the more you save!

  • 15 euros within the first 48 hours of registration opening (00:00 on 01/04/2021);
  • 20 euros until the entire month of May;
  • 30 euros up to the entire month of August;
  • 40 euros from September 1st until registration closes);

Registration entitles you to:
– Withdrawal Number / “bib”;
– Collection (upon return) of the Event Package containing technical gadgets and / or food products;
– Free access to the refreshment points along the route;
– Free use of changing rooms, toilets, showers;

Fantastic prizes by drawing among all the participants.

Art. 6 : Number / bib number and event package collection

The number / bib can be collected on the day of the event at the Info Point at the Elementary Schools from 11:00 to 13:30.

The event package will be delivered to all participants upon returning from the route.

Art. 7 : Refreshments

There will be more refreshment points distributed along the route in the most homogeneous way possible. Refreshments are free.

Art. 8: Awards

There is no ranking. The organization undertakes to give away, by drawing among all participants, various and technical material normally used in cycling practice.

Art. 9: Physical preparation

Participants are required to have good physical preparation, resistance to prolonged efforts, and above all a spirit of adaptation.

Good knowledge in the use of GPS and good orientation skills are required.

Each participant in choosing the path must evaluate physical capacity, preparation, statements made. Each participant therefore makes a conscious choice that releases the Organization from any liability.

Art. 10: Minimum compulsory equipment

Although there will be more refreshment points along the route, each participant must be autonomous and self-sufficient in terms of power supply (especially water), equipment and any technical failures.

The use of a helmet and the presence of an appropriate acoustic signaling device are mandatory. It is also mandatory to carry a kit for repairing faults / punctures.

For participants in the 100/150 km it is mandatory to be equipped with an adequate front and rear lighting system as well as a high visibility vest or shoulder straps as they will have to deal with stretches at night.

Appropriate and suitable clothing is recommended to face any adverse weather conditions (sun, wind, rain, hail, lightning, cold, fog).

Please note that the route includes some off-road, dirt and / or gravel sections, sometimes bumpy, therefore suitable for bicycles such as Gravel, MTB, Cyclocross, City-Bike and similar, even electric, we do not recommend the use of bicycles race / road.

Art. 11: Medical and mechanical assistance

Health care is provided along the entire route by ambulance with medical staff on board.

However, the reference hospitals are: Argenta Hospital and Comacchio Hospital.

There is no mechanical assistance.

There is no recovery service for retired people and there are no research obligations by the organizers of the participants on the route. For the participants of the 50 km route only, recovery will be carried out in case of actual need.

For participants in the 100 and 150 km routes, the purchase of the Never Alone service is mandatory but is free.

Each participant undertakes to communicate their withdrawal to the Far Village info point or by calling or sending a text message to 335 5373693 (Raffaele) or other telephone number that will be communicated.

We reserve the right to modify and communicate any different numbers before departure (briefing).

Art. 12: Highway Code and rules of conduct

Strict compliance with the Highway Code is mandatory for all participants along any stretch of the route.

The utmost respect for the environment, other participants and third parties who do not participate in FAR Gravel, public and private properties, wild fauna and flora, public or private, is also mandatory.

Each participant undertakes not to produce unnecessary shouting, to keep appropriate behaviors, not to waste any waste and any material along the way.

Each participant takes part in FAR Gravel at his own risk and is considered a free personal excursion without any extra rights compared to other users of the paths and roads.

The utmost caution is recommended, especially where the route includes crossings and / or potentially dangerous situations, the utmost respect for road signs and those set up along the route.

Being part of the off-road route, some sections may be bumpy, the participant will overcome the difficult section in his opinion by getting off the bike and proceeding on foot;

Each participant undertakes to strictly follow the directions of the Organization, the Police and the volunteers present along the route.

Upon return, it is mandatory to notify the Info Point of the end of the route in order to also collect the event package.

Art. 13: Cancellation of the event

The event will take place in the presence of any atmospheric condition that does not affect the safety and health of the participants, and may be interrupted at the discretion of the organization. If, for any cause of force majeure, the event does not take place and / or could not be postponed, the amount of participation will not be reimbursed or transferred to the following year. Always due to force majeure the organization reserves the right to modify the form of carrying out gravel 2021 at any time and following any modality is considered appropriate. Obviously all the possible prohibitions and requirements relating to the Covid Pandemic 19 are respectful Others. The organization will monitor the evolution of the pandemic situation, any modification to the event will be communicated via e-mail to participants in the meantime registered and will be communicated to the website www.fargravel.it. Far Gravel is equipped with the necessary health plan that is validated by the appropriate institutions as well as all the other authorizations and permits provided by national laws.

Art. 14 Processing of personal data

Participation in the Event involves the processing of the personal data of the participants for the purposes and in the manner described in the Organizer’s Privacy Policy.

The data controller is the Organizer: Amateur Sports Association FAR.

By registering for the Event, the participant confirms that he has carefully read the Organizer’s Privacy Policy.

Art. 15 Responsibility and final rule

The participant is aware that the organization of the event is not a professional organizing body, but it acts only for recreational purposes, for voluntary promotion of the territory and in any case without any financial purpose (Article 1174 of the Civil Code). It therefore follows that the Organization is in any case indemnified from any liability related to the FAR Gravel cycling excursion. It is also indemnified from any liability regarding eventualities that have occurred to the cyclist such as: accidents, loss of the route, physical problems, accidents, thefts, etc. The Organization declines all responsibility for itself and for its collaborators, for accidents or damage to people or things, which may occur before, during and after the event or as a result of it. It therefore follows that the FAR Gravel cycling excursion is intended as a spontaneous and independent participation meeting of cyclists and cyclists on a free and personal excursion.

The Organization also reserves the right to exclude from the event cyclists who will have an incorrect behavior before, during and after the event.

FAR Gravel abhors any doping practice or any behavior similar to it, which implicitly participates and similarly undertakes.

By signing the registration form (also online) each participant declares:

to have read and understood these Regulations and to accept every part of it;

to have become aware that the event is a non-competitive cycling excursion and without rankings;

to be aware that participation in the event, especially for longer routes, requires considerable physical effort;

to be in good health and in suitable physical condition to face the chosen path;

to be in good standing with regard to the medical certification and / or membership required;

declares not to use doping or drugs or medicinal substances that may alter performance or lead to situations of harm or danger for themselves or for others;

to strictly comply with the highway code, other participants, other road and trail users, the environment, the property of others, flora and fauna, public, private or wild;

to strictly follow the directions of the Organization, the Police and the volunteers present along the route;

to be suitably equipped from a technical point of view to deal with difficult situations (adverse weather conditions, poor night visibility, gravel, dirt, bumpy sections, breakdowns and punctures);

to be adequately prepared to deal with emergency situations (accidental falls, collisions with unattended and / or wild animals, other participants and vehicles);

to have experience in GPS navigation in off-road and / or in any case not tracked routes;

to grant the Organization consent to the use of their personal data (address, email, telephone number, video and photographic images) pursuant to art. 13 of Legislative Decree 196 of 30 June 2003 and art. 13 GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) in the manner and within the limits set out in the Privacy Notice attached at the bottom of the Regulation.

Notes

A copy of the regulation on the website will be displayed at the Far Village Info Point and at the Info Point in case of promotional events of the event. The Organization reserves the right to modify these regulations at any time for reasons it deems appropriate for a better organization of the race. Any changes will be communicated through the appropriate social channels.
